Anyone else having this problem? I can't access the root or the tools. I can, obviously, get to the forums subdomain just fine.

Everything is up, and it's physically on the same server as the forums, so...

Someone seems to have this problem every few months. Never been solved. You will be able to get back to it eventually, if you end up like everyone else. I think its some sort of dns/router/thingamabobby problem somewhere between you and digitalpoint, but never could pin it down exactly. Good luck...you'll probably be able to access it tomorrow, or the next day, or the next...

Very infrequently I am unable to access DP - but then usually for a brief period of time 2-3 minutes tops.

To be honest, I'm not sure why it would happen. I don't think it would be DNS... we have two DNS servers on the main subnet where the servers are, then a backup name server that is not even in the same state, so a routing problem wouldn't affect name resolution. If there was a network issue getting to the server, you wouldn't be able to get to this forum (on the same server).

Can you resolve the IP address for www.digitalpoint.com? If so, try pinging it and also pinging the IP for the forums and see what happens.

Well, I changed the DNS settings on my router (I had set them up to resolve verizon DNS servers) and instead let my ISP assign its own DNS servers and it seems like the problem has been solved.
