cant get Google AdSense Channel ID to work

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Wyla, Aug 21, 2006.

    I entered my Google AdSense Client ID and it went through fine. I create a channel called DP but when I put "DP" into the field that asks for Google AdSense Channel ID, it gives me an error:

    "You did not enter the correct format for the Google AdSense Channel ID field. Please read the field description for the expected format."

    Any suggestions?

    A channel ID can not jus be "DP".

    It will be numerical like this:

    5651233792

    so how do i get one of those?

    I did:
    Adsense> AdSense Setup > Channels > Manage Custom Channels > Create a New Channel > and i named it "DP"

    Was this not what I am supposed to do?

    Yes, and now go to where you would 'create' an ad, chosoe the DP channel and fish the numerical ID out of the code.

    You did Correct

    Now in the code there is a number given for the channel.
    That no. is to be given in the channel ID field.

    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
    google_ad_width = 728;
    google_ad_height = 90;
    google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
    google_ad_type = "text";
    google_ad_channel ="XXXXXXXXXX"; <<<==== The number here is the channel ID
    //--></script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    Am i right T0PS ?
