Can't get enough impressions or clicks.

    I finally got my campaigns off the ground and I must say that its almost impossible to get any clickthroughs in semi competitive markets.

    I am doing split testing and my ads are compareable to those running similar campaigns.

    I set my campaign budget at $50,000 and then set my max bid for my keyword group to around $4.00 a click. That should be about $3.00 more than anyone else. On Overture the top person for my type of keyword pays around $.80 cents. I am willing to take a loss. I just wanted to get to the top of the pile to help increase clickthroughs. Nope.....Not even on page 2 and most the time further down than that. Why is it like this. About 350 Impressions No Clicks. My ADS are comparable to everyone else.

    I did a test in another industry because I was curious and I put a bid of $15.00 a clickthough in a competive industry. I waited and after about 8 hours. 14 impressions. NO clicks. How do you build a reputation if you can't get past the 75 others that have been running campaigns since the last decade.

    BTW: Keyword lists are fairly small...around 500 for each sector

    Google words is relevancy. If your ad is not relevant enough, you don't get the place you deserve. You might be paying top price but your ads aren't relevant enough "YET". Try editing your ads, make them more relevant, maybe more aggressive. It's hard to compete with those who are already quite installed in the market.

    My ads are very direct, very similar and very relevant. I have about 6 split testing at moment and its almost impossible to get a real good idea how relevant they are because they don't get shown enough.

    Ads on the frontpage....no matter how relevant are going to get more clicks than relevant ads that are on page 10.

    Googles system is flawed and they should go back to straight bidding like overture. I am sure the people at the top of each search love it though:)

    Do not set your budget so high, it will not make difference.

    some ideas:

    - Try to use dinamic ads (use in both:heading and lines)
    - Try to add more and more keywords
    - create a lot of ad groups very specific for small group of keywords;
    - Try to expand the Geotargeting to another countries
    - Try more and more ideas in your Ads, create another ones with your split method.
    - Try also content network if you have not tried it( but with lower bids)
