Can't find ANYTHING under 0.10 cents

I'm trying affiliate marketing for the first time but I can't seem to figure out how to get any keywords under ten cents. I tried EVERYTHING (even things that I didn't want just to test) and everything is 0.30 and above.

Is there something I could do to get my words under 10 cents?

If you tried things unrelated to your webpage, the reason they were 30 cents or higher is because your page is not considered on-topic enough. If you make your web page correspond EXACTLY to google search terms, you will have lower bid prices

Are you talking about the URL? Because I have some of my keywords in my URL.

    Hey Check.

There's a number of things that figure into your adwords costs.

The first is that whether you like it or not, Google figures that past is an indicator of the future. If your campaign is brand new, you'll be charged more than a long-standing campaign that has a proven ability to generate solid Click-Through rates with their ads.

This is because that Google loves advertisers who get clicks, because then Google gets paid more, and people consider the ads relevant. So, you'll start off a little higher than you might with the same campaign after some history of decent CTR.

The second is that some markets are indeed just darn competitive. Try minimum bids for "mesothelioma", for example, and you'll see what I mean. Of course, chances are that not all the words you tried were super competitive, but just a heads-up that many keywords, even seemingly obscure ones, can be highly, highly competitive by advertisers who know they convert and are willing to pay top dollar for them.

Finally, higher click prices are generally caused by lower quality scores. What's the quality score? An overall estimation of how likely the customer is to be interested in your ad and then also find the information they're looking for on your page.

This breaks down to three things. Ad text, keywords, and landing page.

Ad text is the headline, ad body, and URL. Keywords are obvious... and landing page is wherever you're sending your traffic. Say for instance, your ad copy talks about "weight loss diets", but then your keywords talk about "muscular fitness", and even worse, your landing page talks about something else even more completely unrelated, like real estate deals. Your quality score is going to be awful, so you're going to have to pay a lot to get your (off-topic) ad run.

However, say for instance, Google sees you as a great advertiser who knows what they're doing. Say you're talking about how to improve golf swings. Your ad copy will have "improve golf swing" at least 1-2 times in it. Your keywords will include this word, and related words, like "best golf swing", "golf swing tips", etc etc. And finally, your landing page will have "improve golf swing" a number of times, and other related golf swing terms.

So, if you're seeing bid prices higher than you'd like, it's likely because one of those three above conditions is in effect. Only the last one you can affect, but if done right, it can really make a huge difference in how much you pay.

Thanks A LOT telmari, I think it's because of the new campaign, I'll try running it for a little bit.

    Thanks!

Maybe you need to go to another vendor to get below 10 cents a click? Adsene and Yahoo pay a lot per click so it is reasonable to assume they also charge a lot per click.

Group your ad groups by common words (e.g. make money, make money online, make money tips, etc.).

Then create a template landing page. Make one for each ad group and put the basic common word (in this case "make money") in the title, H1 tags, etc.

    Worked for me anyway . . .
