Can't figure out how to disable vector mask default

For some reason when I create a new layer it defaults as creating a vector mask when I use the rectangle tool. I have no idea what I did to turn this on, but does anyone know how to turn it off? I am literally losing my mind over here!

When you have the rectangle tool selected, make sure you have 'Fill pixels' selected in the toolbar at the top instead of 'Shape layers'
