I have had some SEO work done on my site, however previously I have checked the position of my site in Google.com by using hidemyass (proxy server), and this shows my site in 4th position, but if I take the search string generated by hidemyass and paste it into another window it shows my site at number 1 and 2 position - which is right and why the difference??

The string I am using is below

    http ://www. google. com/search?&sclient=psy&hl=en&site=&source=hp&q=Keyword&btnG=Search

    Replacing keyword with actual keyword.

May be your results were personalized with google.(logout from gmail and clear cookies and search)
I am not sure whether hidemyass is US or Not(use another proxy)

Same with me. Google shows me some sites's result on number one, on which i do seo. I got opinion that google prefers those sites for you, which you open continuously. I opted a solution. Downloaded chrome and only open it for checking my ranks in google. It works well. Always try a different browser to check rank in google

Use ccleaner to clear your cache and cookies. Use hidemyass.com and make sure that you use a US I.P.
