I have been building backlinks to my site for a few weeks now and the past few days I have been trying to comment on blogs and when i click submit its either taking me to a blank page, or its just taking me to the same page but there is no comment posted. I just tried to post on a commentluv blog which posts the comments straight away and its just not showing my comments! Anyone help?
The blank page means your post was flagged as spam. the owner will have to release it from the spam folder. the other problem you have is the reason your post is not showing is because most wordpress blogs require the post to be reviewed before being posted. so it will need to be approved.
I know about the approving bit. Im guessing its the spam. Does that mean im on the askimet spam list??
I'm risking rotten tomatoes flying in my direction but I will say it. I've experienced a similar problem with FireFox 2.0.0.20. I get a blank page after submitting a comment. When I come back on an Explorer (the same IP obviously), everything is OK. It doesn't make any sense but it sometimes (rarely) happens.
Yes, I used comment kahuna last August and then after that I got banned from leaving comments. Now it is is fine. Also bear in mind I left positive comments and no less than 6 sentences regarding the topic - So the comments were ON TOPIC and RELEVANT! It is down to the moderator of the blog if they decide to flag it as spam...
May be you are trying to commenting without login...otherwise owner is not interested to posting comment on his/her blog....
Read this post about Akismet spam filters. It should answer your questions and provide a solution to fix the problem.
if you end up in a blank page after leaving comment, it doesn't mean you got flagged by akismet. if it was, then you would see a message saying so. usually this kind of issue is browser related or the blog where you are leaving comments have coding issue. try a different browser or a different computer and see how it goes
This has happened to me on occasions also and I can confirm that it was fixed when I tried it in IE also. I love FF but it does seem to have this one occasional problem.
Firefox does act up now and again , so I always test in IE , Flock and Opera when I meet problems with FF
ok. I tried a different blog and the same thing happened, I think tried another blog and the page just reloaded and I scrolled down to see if it said anything like you comment is waiting approval etc but it said nothing and my comment was still in the form, i tried pressing submit again and the same thing happened. I also tried in IE and again same thing happened. I tried leaving a comment via my pc (using laptop at the min) and it posted the comment!! I then tried several other blogs and the problem popped up again. it was coming up with a blank page.
u don't worry about that. When u did not c your comments right away ..its mean ur comments are on hold for approval.
Blank page means, your post have been detected in Akismet spam filter. You can do step: 1. Write an email to Akismet about it. 2. Contact the blog owner and ask them to approve your comment.
Akismet does not write comment errors to the browser. In fact the comments which lead to a blank screen don't even end up in the Blogger's Akismet spam folder. Therefore the person leaving the comment has no idea if the comment went through or if there is another error (blog and/or browser).
This started happening to me on one of my sites a few weeks back. At first I thought it might be the anchor text or the email address only to find out it was my URL. I have been trying since then to get akismet to take it off their list. The biggest WTF out of it is that I rarely use it to comment with and all the comments have been thoughtful. I have heard back from akismet only to be told that there is no spam list of websites. So I wrote them back again saying if that were true then why would my own brand new websites flag me as spam? And why would every site that I've been to including the recommended site to test it by akismet sees it as spam? Still waiting to hear back from them.
it could be askimet problem. Try to make a comment using a different name/keyword, url and email and see if it goes through. You then might know the answer.
i am having the same problem - white pages. I went to a different wifi location, posted a comment using a different keyword, different email address and different website and still got a white page... something is up.
I too am having the same problem. I have tried safari, FF and IE on my mac and pc and nothing-comments are not posted, nothing saying awaiting moderation, just a blank page with no post. so damn frustrated
