On this forum, on my own sites and elsewhere I see the text links. However is there a problem with my pc/javascript? I often cannot click on them, they're simply text, no link. Any ideas?
>> I often cannot click on them, they're simply text, no link. That is a classic symptom of ad blockers - the ad becomes unclickable and/or the link vanishes. Some ad blockers block the entire ad unit, while others recognize URL strings within an individual ad's URL, and will just block that ad in an ad unit, removing the link when it does. Norton Internet Security is the most common culprit, because it usually installs with ad blocking turned on by default. But there are plenty of other ad blockers on the market now too. If ad blocking isn't the issue, sweep your computer for spyware/adware. But most often, it is an ad blocking program issue.
If you have windows try to run in Safe Mode then check if your ads are working...if your ads works that means that you have adaware, viruses or spyware programs on your Operating System...
>> Curious, I don't have these installed. Interesting, ad blocking and spyware/adware are the only two reasons I know of that cause the behavior you are describing. Any chance something auto-updated on your and enabled an ad blocking feature? Might be worth double checking your antivirus program.
There was a problem with text link units yesterday... They are back again... It's wonderful to receive such naive and stupid responses from some other people...
I have that problem with link units, for many many months now. My windows installation in more than a year old and i have installed SunJAVA several times, may not be that that causes the link units to appear as plain text but i guess it is, and i dont have any scumware either. Here's how it looks on DP... See ? No "Ads by google" and it's just pure nonclickable text. But as i dont use link units on my own sites i dont need to see how it looks when adding link units, so i havent bothered reinstalling windows. Btw, it's the same when using FireFox. Ad Units work fine, but not link units.
