    Unfortunately, that's not true for one reason. The people with money, knowing no better, will go by your Alexa rating to determine if they will purchase direct advertising on your site.

    It took me about 2 1/2 months but one of my sites are at 85k Alexa. http://www.unmotivating.com
    Alexa stats are really skewed and depends on the userbase you are trying to target. I wouldn't rely on the number too much but it is nice to have it rising :D

    there is some change in alexa ranking algorithm,not as old one.....it now depends not only on one factor...
