For some months I have been unable to achieve over 50 in G however the same terms yield first page results in Yahoo, I know this is n't conclusive evidence my site is acceptable but must be seen a decent resource. Therefore im wondering if im experiencing a penalty, any one seen anything like this? or any ideas
Maybe you have selected too competetive keyword to rank for or you don't have enough (valid, not paid) incoming links with the keyword itself as an anchor. Also, look at your competition (the first results). Check they keyword density, what tipe of content they have. Is it really good and optimized or they count more on link baits. Try to make it, and make it better. Do some simple marketing (start a blog, do social bookmarking, article marketing, place the link in your signature on forums or email with your anchor etc). This should rank you higher in Google. I hope I was helpful.
Do your pages each have unique tags for Title, Keywords and Description ?? Do you have many incoming links to your site ?? How old is your site ?? Are you in a very competitive field ?? There could be tons of reasons for your rankings. Alex
Ranking in Google is becoming more tough day by day, cause they are implementing more filters on websites. Plus they are now manually cheking websites i.e. they are worth for 1st position or not. Rite now Ranking in google depends upon relevancy. Get as much RELEVANT links for your internal pages and homepage as you can. But they should be RELEVANT.
Thanks people well here is the URL as far as I know its descriptive updated regularly and has varied key terms and descriptions as well as alt tags, plus all links are relevant and content 2yrs old or so around 200 pages ish www.easyinsurance4you.co.uk take a look
Have you tried using [urlhttp://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/]co-op[/url]? The more indexed pages you have, the more sites your links will be on.
very weary of co ops etc, only ad relative manually checked blogs and sites, also have quite a few from many car blogs and sites.
I am an SEO, thats why im so confused. The fact it was on the first page before more many terms, now nothing suggests some type of penalty. Im assuming no one really has an idea what could cause such a penalty? like myself, exhausted everything to my knowledge.
