as i'm trying to change some parts of my website, such as consistency of links, 301 redirect of non-www, i just notice one thing: why isn't Matt Cutts doin' this? He even has a blog post about it. checking on site: command, both www and non-www are indexed by google http://www.google.com/search?q=site:mattcutts.com http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.mattcutts.com is the dupe content penalty really true? Should i still do 301 redirect and fixing of my links?
Hi, You show that he has www and non-www pages in the SERP's, but the article says the site is used as a test case. I would go for the redirect. If you do not do it, the link popularity will be spread between different URL's. This is also what Matt wrote in his article. By the way, I do not see any advantage in not doing the redirect. Jean-Luc
