Hello, I wanted to see if any webmasters have launched canonical tags on their sites and have seen initial rankings change negatively. We have a large site with a few hundred thousand pages and launched canonical tags a few days ago and our rankings today are greatly different for all of of our page types and for different lengths of keywords. So it appears to be an overall site effect that is hopefully a temporary assessment of our site with the canonical tags and that rankings will hopefully return. We didn't do anything foolish like canonical all of the internal pages to the home page or anything like that. Every page that should stand alone on its own to receive traffic has a canonical back to itself. Has anyone experienced anything like this and do you have feedback in regards to when you saw rankings change back and hopefully improve even since the canonical tags should be helping Google's bots out? I ran ranking in Yahoo and Bing and it looks like this issue only applies to Google... pretty stressful.
