Hi all, Has anyone got any experience with canonical tags causing duplication issues, rather than solving them? I had an issue with two very different product pages showing up in a crawl as duplicate content. When I finally fixed the issue, it was because we had set canonical tags for all product pages. Basically, the pages were considered duplicates because their canonical tags pointed to themselves as canonicals, which basically negated the canonicals themselves. I'm trying to find more information on this but every article I read says product page canonical tags are best practice and that they shouldn't be causing duplication issues at all. Has this happened to anyone else out there and did you figure out why it was happening at all? Thanks
