I always write a htaccess file so I have all my 301 redirects in place.

    i.e

    http://mywebsite.com 301> http://www.mywebsite.com/
    http://mywebsite.com/index.html 301> http://www.mywebsite.com/
    http://www.mywebsite.com/index.html 301> http://www.mywebsite.com/

Is there anyway of doing a 301 redirect for

    http://www.mywebsite.com to http://www.mywebsite.com/

I have tried and I get a loop, I have searched google and found nothing. I realise that google is intelligent enough to see that this isnt a duplicate content issue.

However, I want to make all linkjuice from http://www.mywebsite.com goes to http://www.mywebsite.com/

Instead of a redirect you can use a 'rel=canonical' and your link juice will automatically flow to the desired URL.
