Hi, I just bought my dream camera a few days ago from best buy: the canon 30d! The question is: is the warranty worth it or needed? It's 250$ canadian for 3 years and it covers the camera itself in terms of screen or buttons etc. Some have told me that the warranty is not really needed coz the canon 30d is a solid camera and i should not worry about the parts breaking. also: how do u turn on the lcd screen so that u can take live pictures with it? is this possible? right now, i can only take pics using the viewfinder. thanks a lot.
When you buy a warranty you basically buy peace of mind for the length of the warranty as anything that will go wrong will be fixed or the camera replaced. Is it worth it? To some people yes and to others no as the warranties are not that cheap. Picture how you'd react if the camera broke down. Would you get all stressed out or would you not worry about it and just go get it fixed. If you are the type of person that might lose sleep over it then the warranty probably is worth the money, otherwise, probably not.
