Cannot transfer .us domain to new registrar

I cannot transfer a .us domain from godaddy to namecheap. How come?

 

is your domain name nearing the date of expiry or has less then 5 days left to expire?
have you put the transfer code correctly?
have you recently purchased domain at godaddy ( less then 2 months ) ?

 

Its nearing the date of expiry, about 7 days left, so that must be why. Thanks forumrating, would give you green, but cannot yet.
