People i don't know why this doesn't work. I want to transfer domain to somebody right to his account from 1and1 to GoDaddy. Here are the steps that i do.

    1. I unlock domain.
    2. The person who domain will be transferred to goes and buys domain transfer.
    3. I get email with Transaction ID and Security Code.
    4. I provide them to that person along with authorization code.

He fails to do transfer. He says codes are wrong. What is wrong here? Maybe i was supposed to open my account first at GoDaddy and only then transfer domain to my GoDaddy account and then to his?

    Thanks.

Well, Godaddy.com acts as escrow and it wouldn't make sense for him to be able to have acess to the domain name without first putting up some money.

First of all, you must check whether you are the real owner of the domain name. Some hosting companies register the names under themselves and they in turn 'lease' it out to you. If this is the case, then you are snooked.

Therefore, always register your domain names with a domain name registrar first before you sign for any hosting package, and not when you are signing for the hosting package.

Always remember this, as it will save you from big heartaches and headaches in the future when you decide to change web hosts.

All the replies so far are junk. This forum is becoming worse and worse.

There is usually a time limit of the code. Maybe it timed out? Generate again and send them the code again. Else write to 1&1 support. I did hear a lot about problems with transfering out from 1&1 and a lot of people hate them.
