A couple of days ago I started a new Adwords campaign with 600+ keywords. Due to previous error on my part with another campaign, every keyword is inactive for Search. However, Google says they may run the ad in Search occasionally to test its relevance...that's OK with me. In the last 24 hours the new campaign accumulated 5 Search impressions and over 9000 Content impressions. I can see which keywords got each search impression (along with the CTR of each), but there is no indication in Campaign Management of which keywords triggered the Content impressions or what those CTRs are. Did I accidentally turn off this part of the display, and if so, how? Thank you.
The keywords stats are only for Search network, not for Content Network and is not possible to turn it on. As I know is not possible to know the keywords that are triggering the impressions for content network (maybe a report? sorry i don't know) The keywords there are used in content network to determine where the ads will appear (to target the content). Otherwise the statistics at your ads (impressions, clicks, ctr%) are mixed: content and search network. Also the keyword inactive/active status affects only search network: this status has no relevance over content network.
The CTR of the adgroup as a whole is low, but the lack of statistics doesn't let me know if any of my 600+ keywords is doing well...all I can see is the overall CTR. When you have Search activated, your minimum bid will go up to $5 under these conditions (low CTR). Since I am only advertising on the Content network, will my minimum bid also go up?
As you are only targeting content network is natural that you have a low CTR. This Content network Low CTR has no influence over Search Network CTR or quality Score. They are measured separately. If you have a campaign that have Content and Search Network activated (or maybe only content Network) you may notice the small footnote in your adgroup: Also the min bid is valid only for the search network stuff - Ignore these min bid or inactive keywords status as your campaign is pure content network as I said.
