This is for a wordpress theme: when trying to save a post i get this message :"Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? The changes you made will be lost .... " .
Is there anything needed to be setup before posting?

To be on the safe side, copy and paste the whole post into notepad and try and see what happens.

Instead of hitting the post/submit kind of button, save it first as draft..see if it works.

Do you keep getting the same message? "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? The changes you made will be lost .... "

If so, I suggest you have one of your trusted and knowledgeable friends take a look at it.

It turns out that if the visual editor is turned off then it works.

i guess there is some problem with the theme, first of all try the plugines!

first make a proper backup of the entire blog of yours!

then disable all the plugins and see if it works,

after that, get the theme you are using, and put it all back as fresh, you may lose some things, the backup will work then!

it is always recomended to have backups, i usually make backups of all my sites and blogs every weeks, that helps you when you are in problems!:)

If all the above suggestions fail, then you may want to do a fresh WP install. They just released a new version a few days ago.

Searching on WP site, all webmasters facing the same problem have solved it by turning off the visual editor but yeah, i think reinstalling can solve the issue

If you need the visual editor off to post to your blog, then you might as well reinstall. Why run a broken back-end?
