I rank excellent in Google.co.uk and Google.com, Excellent in live.com/Bing but... Yahooo? nada... As a second rate search engine Bing sends me decent referrals and Google obviously sends me the bulk, but as much as i would like to be sitting at the top of Yahoo it just aint happening. So... I am wondering, I have a .com domain on a USA server but want it to rank well in the Yahoo UK searches (it doesn't rank well in USA yahoo either) I really do not want to have to pay out to yahoo directory but would this be the key to getting ranked well in Yahoo? Currently i get something like 60 referrals per month from Yahoo, Bing gives me twice that PER DAY, so something is amiss as surely it should go 1 Google, 2 Yahoo, 3. Bing. Any ideas? Is it the yahoo paid directory that is holding me back?
Well yes, I know this much. However it is not that different in that links count, h1 counts, content counts and titles count.... My fear is that the .com domain on a USA server is what is holding it back. I can sort this by submitting to the Yahoo Paid Directory under UK (I think) however am looking for opinions before I commit a few hundred bucks, every year, to doing this.
Yahoo works on the age of domain and authority more than anything. If you rank high in Google then you'll be sure to rank well in Yahoo over the next 6 months or so, Just keep doing the things your doing for google optimization then it will come.
Yes it depends on the age of your site. I just notice it and know a couple months ago. Since im curious that time when Im not ranked in Yahoo and in Google is ranked.
If your site is new it's probably not going to rank in yahoo very well...if at all... but you could still use video marketing and social bookmarking sites to drive traffic...not to mention google....if your new.. screw yahoo...
