Cannot rank for my name?

Hi there,

Although I have a number of sites on various subjects I am in fact a songwriter, now for some reason I cannot rank or get pages indexed for my name wwwReneDwightcom [ left out the dots so as not to spam ].. I have got a small number of links and only have a few pages, for some reason this my main site is doing the worst of all my sites..

My name is not very common so I would have thought it would be easy to rank number 1 for the term Rene Dwight .. I can only think it is the early 2.5 wordpress I intalled, I have always had problems with it.. now I am considering re-building the site with an SEO wordpress I have... I just wondered if anyone can see an obviouse problem with the site?

Do you have backlinks with Rene Dwight anchor text? If you don't then start commenting on related dofollow blogs with your name with a link back to your site.

Another error, you didn't mention your name even once on the content. The h1 text is okay but the title has two Rene Dwight - one will do.

I tried to rank for my name and I easily did based on commenting. Backlinks will get your recognized. You may even try some Social Networking Sites and Bookmarking your content on bookmark sites like Digg and StumbleUpon.

if even the validator can NOT check the errors - then you have some of the MOST fatal HTML errors possible!

the validator in your case says

the validator is FAR less error sensitive in PARSING pages than Googlebot is !!

the error messages ALWAYS are self-explaining
line numbers include empty lines
>> its your NAME-preceding special character that is illegal=fatal!!

All my backlinks were indeed using my name in the anchor text... it seems then that the template I purchased must be full of junk which is messing things up...

I will remove the purchased template and start from scratch...

I would say it could be your internal linking structure, I havn't looked properly but if that is not setup right, you could be giving away all your page rank to your other pages, making your homepage, less important

 

its in very particular the ONE character PREceding your name on line 7 - that's where you KILL googlebot

hence clean up that ONE character
then clean up all other errors
make sure you use the very same editor charset definition as you use on your website
or
as you said
do all from scratch yourself

if it displays already WRONG in firefox - then it usually always IS very wrong code.
