Cannot edit my.cnf

    i have a VDS plan from jumpline and i want to edit my.cnf because i cannot access mysql from remote connection, but the problem is that i am unable to modify the file and also unable to change file permissions some one please help me

    How are you accessing the file? Have you contacted your provider? my.cnf is usually owned by root and only editable by login via ssh.

    i am logged in as root in ssh but cannot modify it
