Cannot delete pages in wordpress

I cannot delete pages in wordpress. I delete them, but they keep on coming back. How can I fix this ?

This works on a test site (but I don't know why your having the problem)

cPanel > PhpMyAdmin > Choose your WP database > Posts Table (browse) > Delete the entry matching your page title.

All the pages end up in the database as 'posts'.
Deleting the page this way, did not seem to harm the test site.
If you also keep a back-up this should solve at least part of your issue.

I've found that my posts will not delete either, or so it appears. Once I refresh the page (as it suggests at the bottom, but as you may have many posts as I know I do, you may not have noticed it if you did not scroll down), it is no longer listed and when I go to the site it is gone as well.

 

Thanks all. I was able to use a back up of the database and solved the problem that way.
