Do Godaddy still cancel registrations before 5 days? If so, how should I ask them?

Haven't done it before personally, but I've read that the only way to do it with Godaddy is to send the support staff an email asking to refund you during the 5 days

    here is the godaddy answer:

If there is something we can help you to configure or change please let us know. Otherwise you have up to 5 days from the date of your purchase to cancel a domain for a refund. We would not be able to cancel it for you. Once it has been cancelled you can reply to us indicating it has been cancelled and we will submit a refund request.

To cancel, follow the directions below:

First, log into your customer account:

o Go to the Go Daddy Account Login Page
o Log in using your account username (which may be the same as your customer number) and password

If you have trouble logging in, our password reset form may help you. You can find this form through the following link:

    Account Retrieval Page

Once logged in, follow the steps below to cancel:

o Select 'Payments and Renewing Items' from the 'Customer Info & More' menu.
o Check the box next to the item(s) you would like to cancel and click on the 'Cancel Item' button.
o Select 'Cancel Now' or 'Cancel at Expiration Date' in the menu that appears to the right.
    o Click on 'Save Changes'.

*Canceling now will immediately remove the service from your account. If you choose to "Cancel at Expiration Date" the service will remain active until the date specified and will not be renewed.

This is the wrong forum for that question, but you will see in the domain control panel when your domain is expiring. Thats where you redirect it too.
I use whois.domaintools.com sometimes when I am too lazy to log into cp.

The best possible way is to call them up 480-505-8877 and ask them for a refund. If you canceled it before the 5 days was up then they will give you a refund. If not, they wont.

You can reply and ask for a refund from the cancellation email you've received.

Just set up my first domain through GoDaddy, thanks for this info. Part of the homework one does for security. Nice to see that there is a pretty easy way to cancel if I mess up.

    Just an update guys.

I've received their cancellation letter within 24 hours and the funds will be credited back to my account in the coming 5-7 business days. Thanks GD for the fast reply. :)
