Canadians Using CJ? What About Taxes?

    Hi,

I'm hoping I can get some advice from Canadian CJ users.

I signed up with them a while ago but then they started asking for even Canadians to fill out a wj-5 or whatever it is.
I got a little worried and stopped using them at this point. I'm really not interested in dealing with the IRS.

Can you guys give me some honest answeres to this?
Even a pm if you don't care to post how you handle your taxes on public forums.

I'd really appreciate some feedback since I feel like I'm leaving out a huge opportunity not using them.

    Thanks,

As canadian, i didnt fill out any w8 or any other forms.

I believe it works like google... canadians dont have a irs to report to... we just do our taxes and claim the money as income that you will pay on.

I do not believe cj requires canadians to fill out the form to use the services. But its been a long while since i signed up.

    Thanks for some insight tgo.
Have you received several cheques from them?

It's kind of a grey area earning money from the US while residing in Canada.

They did actually send me one (w8 form) which is why I stopped.
If I remember correctly they actually wouldn't fully activate my account until it was recieved back completed. As to what they actually do with it once recieved I don't know.

I have recieved 8 checks so far, all were for about 400$ CAD.

The w8 may be needed now, not sure on that...

I do know that in my account settings i have no info for

    Tax ID (SSN/EIN)
    Tax Classification
    VAT Number

    I do have
    Minimum Payment Amount $400.00 CAD
    Payment Method Check
    Payee's Name ****** ******
    Check Currency CAD Canadian Dollar

I know i never ever mailed them anything with a signature. I may have filled out something that said i was canadian and i will claim the earnings but it was so long ago...

    Hope this helps more... sorry.

    Thanks for more info,

I've also managed to find some other threads that weren't showing up in search results earlier and it looks pretty good.

I'll try again and see what happens.
