With the Canadian dollar rising fast again the falling green back we must now wonder if Google absence is the right program for us. Will Google give us the current for our clicks at the time f the click r have we already lost money from this? I mean for me it’s not so bad I have only made like 20 dollars from Google but if you’re a Canadian webmaster and have made 3000, 5000 this is where you going to see the biggest losses. As the Canadian Dollars continues to rise we’re pretty much giving clicks way. What’s your comments and thoughts regarding this issue as a Canadian Webmaster
I'm not a canadian webmaster, but one in the euro zone, so you can imagine how worse the situation is for us here, the euro has been rising and rising ever since I began using adsense, now it's like 1450 dollars to have 1000 euros. Of course you know that the prices in europe also go up everytime, so with 1000 euros you buy less food than 2 years ago! Anyway, I'm not complaining but it would be nice if the dollar was worth one euro.
I'm a Canadian and definitely feeling this impact. Also buying and selling on the forum is becoming harder. I now buy/sell using CAN dollars instead of american.. paypal is taking to much to convert the money from USD to CAN.
USD will fall further as the Fed rates are being cut to pump in more liquidity for the market. Honestly, its a last minute try to save the economy which is going to fall in first quarter of 2008. Then we have tough years to come.
Well it does suck, you can lose a few hundred bucks on a big check. The good thing though is that eventually our retail prices will drop. And shopping in the US is much cheaper now. Thing that pisses me off the most is the robbery on exchanging the money. Banks take about 2 cents. Paypal just totally rips you and I've noticed CJ is skimming a little bit too. I just got a US account at my bank with a preferred exchange rate which is usually about 1 cent more than their regular rates, it adds up.
i would like to think that way too which is not the case so far here in canada. prices for things are 1.5 times more than US for the same product as thats how the exchange rate has been for long. now with this weak US dollars, we still see retail prices being the same, US first food chains operating in canada still charging the same, stil lpaying the same for imported goods from US. however, just heard the other day on radio that walmart is adjusting price for greeting cards and one or 2 other items in relation to US. also, chapters bookstore here is also adjusting the prices. wish it was for all
The dollar is falling due to housing problems in the residental sector mostly, once these houses get cheap enough, people will start buying like crazy and the cycle will continue.
Well in a normal situation this would be correct but guess what this ain't normal! The United States of America has taken on a huge debt from their activities in the middle east so the American Dollars isn't going anywhere for many years but DOWN I will say maybe in 2025 the dollar will be back t par, see you in 2025 to see if I'm right, or sooner, (I hope not) lol
That technically is good for us We can buy cheaper stuff, and will break a lot of other economies in the future, and other goverments know this.
wow I could sit here all night with you but.... I know your opinion is valued as mine is so here we are with our comment... next Cheers See ya in 2025
Im Canadian, but don't use AdSense. You'll probably get paid using the old rate, I mean, not alot of stores are jumping to change prices yet, right?
Damn Right!!! Establish your currency as the unofficial currency of the world. Get people to depend on it A WHOLE LOT!!!= Security (If some one was to blow up the US the whole world would suffer x1000) Can break/make other country economy due to fluctuation. Here is a question: Why do other country push themselves to increase the value of their currency to later complain about the U.S currency?
The last 3 recessions have been the shortest in history and I suspect the next one will also be short.
Its swings and roundabouts really, we gain on some things and lose on others with this exchange rate. I'm earning less from adsense, but my USA advertising campaign on adwords is costing me less. Also, my link buying budget in £ goes a lot further when I'm getting 2 dollars for every pound. And I could buy this: From Texas for more than £1500 less than I could get it in UK.
