Can you write an ebook within 7 days?

I am not talking about hiring freelancers. This question is for the publishers who personally write their own ebooks. Have you ever written one within 7 days? If not what's the longest it took you to write your own book?

You can write an ebook in a day, but what it's going to look like? I mean, you don't need long time to write an ebook, but if you leave more time for it, you will be able to make it better.

7 days.....It's a difficult question. Depends what niche are you in, depends how long you want the ebook to be, and there are many other factors to consider, before answering your question.

The short answer is YES, you can write an ebook in 7 days, but I am not sure that it's going to be successful.

I can do the writing in 7 days...

The outline, research, and design are another story. :)

I "wrote" our main product's introductory chapters in 7 days - 30-some pages. However, the rest of the product took many many months to gather and organize.

Yes. I've written 100+ page ebooks with covers, graphics, and boxshots in 7 days. But I do work fulltime...this isn't evenings and weekends.

I wrote my book (www.DailyProfiting.com) in 2 days. I had years of knowledge on the subject and just had to get it down in an organized manner. I have experience writing training guides which lessens the learning curve.

I think it is harder to get your sales page just right.

Are you wanting to publish your own book? If you have to do research, It will take some quality time to produce a quality product.

I think it is very possible to write an ebook within 7 days, but it would require that you wake up quite early every day and start the day with a very clear and definite plan. And also writing a 7 day ebook is probably only best suited for more 'compact' type ebook topics with less complexity. I just do not see how you can write a 7 day ebook on a highly complex topic that requires a lot of research. This ebook should help you get started.

Yes you can write a book in 7 days (full days) if you are passionate about your subject and you already know a lot about it. But if you are trying out a new niche then it will take a lot longer to research and complete the ebook.

That is a pretty open ended question, I wrote a 37 page e-book without graphics and introduction in a night, finished it the next day and it was one of the best selling WSOs ever on the warrior forum. I also wrote a 9 page e-book recently in a couple days, just because I had to get dozens of screenshots, cut them up, format them in the PDF, etc to really capture the step-by-step process I was trying to illustrate... Again, it all depends. My answer might not be very helpful because most of the e-books I write myself are less than 50 pages, and subsequently don't take very much time to complete.

7 days wow i'd have to be in slow motion to write so slowly - unless we're talking 500 pages or something crazy. 8000words/day minimum a days research if i dont know the topic well :)

    It depends on....

    1. Awareness about the topic you write.
    2. Amount of pages.
    3. Writing skills.
    4. How much hours you can work for a day.
    5. Do you add graphics or not. If yes, image editing experience.

    Have I missed something? add.....

You can complete a book project in one day, but it is going to be a hell of a day. I myself have done about 3 books of 50 pages or more and I think I remember it taking me about 30 days from start to finish with all the checking, editing and re-writing. There is always more you think of to put in, and you are always worried about mistakes so you keep reading and re-reading it over and over until you start to hate it and want to trash the whole project. Then, just when you know you can't stand it anymore, you know its done.
