Can you use Joomla to Modify Existing Site?

I'm trying to find a cms that will enable me to midofy existing site, primarily for the content sections initially.

Will Joomla do this?

 

Yes, it makes your site a dynamc site if you are using regular html files for pages. Static pages just "sit there". Joomla advances your site to a "Web 2.0" type of level. Your articles will not look different if you do not want them to.

 

Many thanks Blue Star Ent. At the moment, I really want Joomla to add a CMS to a few brochure style websites so customers can change the content section ( not navigation, masthead etc). I've created the sites in Microsoft Expression but want to be able to add cms via Joomla.

You are welcome. What you want to do is basic to Joomla. Users can login to the front end and edit articles with ease. Good luck.

 

I'd like to recommend you this Mighty Resources CCK (Content Construction Kit) which can enhance your content. There're lots of features like types, sections. comments and filters. It is free so take a look in it and probably it will help you.

Joomla is a good CMS for any kind of a website. It seemed a bit illogical but when I realized how does hierarchy in Joomla works it became much easier. Remember - Sections >>> Categories >>> Types.
