I only have a dynamic ip address with my ISP,and to host my own website i need to fix a static Domain name to my dynamic ip address. Now the service http://www.no-ip.com allows me to do this, but I'm just wondering, can I do this using Godaddy's dns control instead of no-ip.com ?
I don't think it has any built in support for dynamic IPs that I've noticed. With them or 99% of other registrars though, you can just set a CNAME record in your site's DNS settings that will direct the request to whatever hostname you specify. So basically you could have it redirect to your assigned no-ip hostname, or to any other dynamic IP service you want. Obviously these methods are not 100% reliable and when your IP does change most of these services can take a while to update. I would of course recommend just getting a static IP address to host anything popular or critical.
