Maybe you can but the best way is to write you own without any book source. Try also to makes your own images.
Besides providing source, it's suggested to ask for permission from the content owner, which can keep your from illegal issues.
Copyright laws vary between counties but most have a slightly wooly "fair use" clause. Your safest option is to gain permission from the content owner in writing. If you want to take a risk under fair use rules then it will depend on what your doing..... if you are putting a couple of lines from another book in yours as clearly quoted text and referencing at that point the source and there is a valid reason for its inclusion, then you may argue fair use. If your putting in large amounts of another book as your own text and just back page bibliography mentions the original text and your doing it to avoid having to write your own copy then its unlikely you could argue fair use.
