Maybe you can but the best way is to write you own without any book source.
Try also to makes your own images.

Besides providing source, it's suggested to ask for permission from the content owner, which can keep your from illegal issues.

Copyright laws vary between counties but most have a slightly wooly "fair use" clause.

Your safest option is to gain permission from the content owner in writing.

If you want to take a risk under fair use rules then it will depend on what your doing..... if you are putting a couple of lines from another book in yours as clearly quoted text and referencing at that point the source and there is a valid reason for its inclusion, then you may argue fair use. If your putting in large amounts of another book as your own text and just back page bibliography mentions the original text and your doing it to avoid having to write your own copy then its unlikely you could argue fair use.

yes you can. You can also be sued for $10,000 or more per instance if you do so.

Can you kill people with a spoon? Yes you can. you can also get sent to jail for life for doing so.

you see what I did there?

    probably not.

"Fair use" is a relatively limited use. Although it may be possible to use a small amount of text under the right circumstances (with appropriate attribution of the original source), if you plan on using a substantial amount of material, it is unlikely that your use will fall into the category of fair use. As for images, it is even more difficult to justify the use of images in most cases. To be safe, get permission.
