    First of all check your website standards whether it developed in web 2.o or extended version. choose high searches and low competition keywords to use..

    Both on-page and off-page optimizations are needed for a successful website. If the competition is weak we may get to the top positions even without any activity but such cases are rare. Basic SEO is always welcome and needed for online success.

    Go get SEO Doctor - a firefox plugin that scores your on-site SEO. This is an easy plugin to work with. It lists most of the important on-page SEO factors that you need to consider and scores each one of them. If your site is missing some important on-page SEO factors, this plugin will make it really easy to identify and fix each error. That's the first step. Once you get your score to %100 then you can move to off-page SEO.

    Off-page SEO is all about link building. Please understand that link building is something that needs to be done daily for the lifetime of your site. This is how the winners are doing it.

    Be sure to generate a comprehensive keyword list and run a ranking report on it right now - today. This will be your baseline. It's against this baseline that all of your efforts will be measured. This is good news for you! This will prove your value and worth to your customer or employer. They will be able to see, by virtue of the ranking reports, that your link building efforts are not hocus-pocus and really do work. If you don't run ranking reports, your boss or customer will fire you as soon as they run into any kind of cash flow issue.
