If you are trying to rank your home page for a head term like "keyword phrase" then it makes NO difference whether you use keywordphrase.tld or keyword-phrase.tld. Personally, I always prefer domain names without hyphens because I think they are easier for users to remember (fewer characters) AND easier for users to type. Page names are a different story... Google (and I) prefer page names with hyphens (not underscores) as word separators... as you can see here http://google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=76329&topic=15261 in the 2nd paragraph: So some-keyword-phrase.html is better than some_keyword_phrase.html is better than somekeywordphrase.html.
