It's so silly how people really don't know how to swim. If you've lived in a desert without any body of clean-ish water near you, fine, I understand. For the rest of you, how can you live with yourself knowing 3/4 of the earth's surface has the potential to kill you? I understand that swimming statistics are racist: the whiter or wealthier you are, the better the chances are that you know how to swim...But it's swimming! It isn't golf. It isn't sailing. It's swimming! You did that before you could walk, how can you accept not knowing how to swim?
I started learning to swim over 47 years ago when my mother enrolled me in swimming lessons at 5 years old. I took lessons for the next 5 or 6 years. A great way to spend a hot summer morning. Now I'm trying to learn how to swim in money, but have not earned enough to fill a pool yet. I'll let you know how those lessons go...
Yes I can swim. There is a pond in my house. I and my cousins usually swim there when I go home. Mother scolds me sometimes because I may catch cold, but I don't listen to her.
