With about 4 sites (non-commercial) i'm in the 8tm month. Still no inclusion.

Four different domains for the websites, four different categories. :)

Yes you can. I got my site listed and it was accepted in less than a week. But it has to be non-commercial to apply for the free listing.

Good luck. I was very surprised at quickly my site was added. In fact, it was added to the wrong category. I contacted one of thier editors and they very kindly moved it to the correct category. As much as I hate Yahoo, I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice and fast they were.

What do they consider "commercial"? Does having Adsense ads make it a commercial site in their eyes?

    They only state "non-commercial".

There is no mention whatsoever about any broader description of that term :)

That's a good question. In my mind, I would say "no". I think adsense is so prolific that unless you're actually selling something, that they would understand that adsense allows website owners to monetize their websites.

Yahoo directory picked up one of my sites two days after it launched. I'm not sure how they found it though; I didn't submit it. It was featured here: http://picks.yahoo.com/

as others have said, yes, you can. In fact you do not even have to submit. I had a traffic jump in one site last month, figured out it had become yahoo listed.
