    This is about protecting your computer from spyware/adware/viruses comming on your hardrive from sites, is there any decent FREE protection applications to download which shield your computer from such viruses

    I know you can get paid ones (Nortons Anti virus- etc) but are there any free ones you use? and how successful are they?


    ONE IMPORTANT THING....about this application- I need a application that will safeguard my computer from viruses ever comming on my computer....

    I DONT need somthing to scan my computer that will clean it up, but a program that will be active on my desktop that will block/prevent viruses from comming to my site (i have also updated this on my post)

    I've only ever used AVG Free and I have never gotten a virus.

    also give a try for SpyBot which is the best to clean up nasty spyware on your system.

    AVG will do exactly as you ask. However there is no guarnatee your computer can be 100% safe even if you buy all the latest virus protection.
