I have added a forum to my website, so far I have a large banner at the bottom of every page and also a 468x60 banner after the first post of each thread. Could you have a look and see if you can suggest any better places to put some ads, http://forum.jgblogging.com Thanks in advance
I wouldn't implement ads until the forum at least has some steady activity flowing. Ads are a major turn-off to visitors and will cause you to lose potential members. Otherwise, your ad placements are fine. On the index, add a space between the 728x90 and the statistics box.
When the forum has built up a following then I would put a 300x250 "In post" - this worked well on my 2012 olympics forum.
I like the ad so far, you should also include a 468x15 link back at the bottom where people can reply to threads. This was really effective for me and it should be for you as well. Good luck on the website, it looks good! MaxSerp
Thanks for the comments, I have now added one in the header of the forum, should be a pretty good place I hope
I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but they have added a new leaderboard size: 970x90. If you replace your 728x90 with it you will get more ads displayed at one time. The way the ads are displayed within it looks nice and clean.
Thanks for the tip, I have created the ad and will test it for a couple of weeks, I have set it to display both text/image ads, is that what you suggest?
