Like a lot of people I was affected by Panda update as well. I am working to optimize ad placements. I would really appreciate your feedback. Site: TopiPhoneResource.info Ads: 1. 728x90 leaderboard near logo - only appears as a BSA backfill 2. Large rectangle - in post - below title 3. Small rectangle - sidebar - mid page 4. Horizontal link unit - above comments I wonder if having facebook/twitter buttons by the Large rectangle in-post ad is a bad idea? I felt it looked odd to leave that space blank. What other content would be best for a better CTR at that location? Thanks in advance.
Well your site is good and ad placements on the post pages are cool except the horizontal links, you should move it upwards and place it under top banner on the page, this will help you increase your CTR. Also you can ad up to 3 ads plus 3 link unit plus 2 search boxes on a single page, so add more links plus a custom search engine.
Thank you. I read that the first ad in the site gets the best rate so I didn't want to place anything above the in-post large rectangle ad. In fact, the leaderboard is from another network and not adsense. I am in the process of adding custom search engine though.
there is no adsense ad visible when you open your page. you have to scroll down to see the ad. place an ad in the excerpt of the 1st post. check this page this will show you what are the most clickable areas: http://www.pronetadvertising.com/article/images/msaleem_optimaladplacement.jpg
Nice website. In the post you have the ad on the top of the post so i think bringing it into the post will increase CTR.
