it is well-known dact that 1000 ditectories submission gives no value for new web Maybe son 40-60 webs still exist to submit
Well directory submission is still very important as far as SEO is concerned.Read google webmaster blog.
Can you elaborate on this? I love how people here make blanket statements without even bothering to explain how they've come to this conclusion. A lot of misinformation get's spread around as a result.
Also you should look at directory submission as advertising. We have some premium advertising that cost us very little, but they bring in almost as much traffic as Google. If you are looking for good directories to submit to; http://www.creativedevelopment.com.au/seo/free-high-pr-directory-search-engine/ The search engine above allows you to search for high pr directories that have "free" options.
Submitting to few directories won't help you lot . You need to submit at lest 1500 to get the result .
Dam noobies. Read the text below from googlewebmater bog:http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/06/quality-links-to-your-site.html
I like to start with directories that have a lot of traffic and are in my niche. Here's a list of web directories with traffic. You can use the search on the site to narrow the list to your niche.
Not true, thats bad information. The random statements and random numbers like this one are still amusing, where they come from is a mystery.
Mine are not. Can you explain more about backlinking please? Selling links, like in your sig, its like a gun to the mouth, pop pop pop, you may as well throw money down the drain. Actually you're not selling links are you, you're selling PR, how can you sell googles patent? They will come after you, actually no, they will penalize the sites of your clients.
It makes me laugh all these so called "Seo Experts" who claim to sell PR, go on about PR as if it will change your life etc. Let me say two things about directory submission. We are in three directories that, combined, give us almost the same amount of TRAFFIC and more leads than Google. Second, relevant, niche directories are great for visibility, for relevant links and to improve your SERPs. They are also good to find out what your competitors are doing. Spamming thousands of directories with the same urls, the same anchor text and the same description is at best a waste of time and at worst likely to damage your position. I likely does more for the directories because they get content, backlinks through reciprocal urls and traffic, which is more that you are getting.
Both are wrong, provide some facts and explanations to back up your statements. 1 good back link from good and quality directory is better than 1500 useless directories.
Well, I have gathered a list of high PR web directories and you can get the list at my forum... link in signature
Listen to people who can backup their "feedback" with links or reasoned thought. ymmv, but here is the official google take on directories: Quality links to your site Monday, June 21, 2010 at 10:00 AM http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/06/quality-links-to-your-site.html "....Directory entries are often mentioned as another way to promote young sites in the Google index. There are great, topical directories that add value to the Internet. But there are not many of them in proportion to those of lower quality. If you decide to submit your site to a directory, make sure it's on topic, moderated, and well structured. Mass submissions, which are sometimes offered as a quick work-around SEO method, are mostly useless and not likely to serve your purposes....."
