Can you recommend any 'buy traffic' services?

    Hello

I regret my first post to this forum finds me asking for advice, rather than helping others by offering some. (Hope you'll forgive me!)

When I launch my business (sometime in the next few months) I want to List Build rapidly 'on steroids'!.

I recently searched in Google by entering 'buy traffic' then studied the first page of results.

I know a fair bit about internet marketing, gaining traffic and list building the 'steady' way, but have no direct experience of using services of the kind found in my Google Search.

Although I'm very hesitant about using a commercial 'traffic driving' service, I've decided that I want to at least look into the possibility and maybe give one a go in the short term, while I'm waiting for the more 'steady traffic building tactics' to take effect. Consequently, a little research is called for.

The kind of services I'm considering, state that they have permanent advertising on a vast number of niche websites. It seems that they obtain their leads from these websites via Exit Pop-ups, then filter them in such a way as to ensure that the person ordering the leads only gets those that come from sites in the network directly related to the category / niche stipulated when ordering the leads.

Likewise, these leads can also come from 'contextual ads' that these services place on their network of sites, then (once more) filter results to ensure that leads supplied to each customer are a close match to the niche / category stipulated when ordering a supply of leads.

Another source is, it seems, expired domain traffic (again matched to the category selected when ordering).

Possibly one or two of you have tried a few of these services and - hopefully - found one you're happy with and feel able to recommend.

If you've not used these kind of services, maybe you know of someone who has had a positive experience with one, and can divulge to me the name of the service so I can consider using it?

I need to go off-line right now (running late for a meeting) but thanks in advance for any thoughts you might care to share - and Best Wishes from the heart of Central England.

These are the most used and trusted by advertisers:

TextLinkAds, TrafficSwarm, CasaleMedia, Advertising, FastClick, BurstMedia, TribalFusion, Azoogle, GlobalInteractive, AdBrite, Adengage, RealMedia, Kontera, Avnads, ValueClick, RealTechNetwork, Reduxmedia, and, Dotomi, Clicksor, VibrantMedia.

Finding one that fits what you need is what you have to find out on your own.

Mat, do yourself a favor and be patient. Put in the hard work necessary, and create a website with lots of fresh, quality content that others will want to link to and pass along to others.

Everyone wants instant gratification. Unfortunately, it takes time to build a business with a firm foundation that will stand the test of time. Don't waste your time buying traffic. Most of the traffic you receive using this method will be worthless, and won't convert. It's basically garbage traffic.

    Remember, garbage in, garbage out!

I agree with this. Remember, you don't just want traffic. You want BUYERS. If the traffic doesn't convert into sales, then it's worthless. In terms of getting buyers, you'd be better off using methods like SEO, article marketing, joint ventures, or even Pay-Per-Click if you're looking to spend money on advertising.

I used a few paid traffic services when I first started out. They did deliver the number of "visitors" they said they would, but not a single sale. Regardless of what they advertised, it was junk traffic.

I'm not sure about networks like Adbrite and Tribalfusion like someone above mentioned, as I never tried them. I'd say if you're going to pay money for advertising, go with Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing. Good luck!

Why would you buy traffic that is not targeted? Even buying targeted traffic does not convert well sometimes. Do they send bots to your site? If that's the case then who in the world would pay for such garbage?

The best way to spread the popularity of your site is with good content. Good content will bring a return user. A return user is 100 times more valuable than a user who just views your site and goes on to the next website

Thanks guys for all the top class feedback and ideas. I've carefully read and noted everyones input.

I take the point about visitors not being the same as buyers. As to adopting tried and tested SEO and other fundamental traffic building strategies, rest assured I will be doing that too.

My main priority will be List Building and it maybe that a percentage of the visitors supplied by the kind of services I'm talking about will at least be willing to opt-in, even if they are not willing to buy anything immediately.

Note the reminders that PPC is probably as good as any other method of paid traffic (Maybe I need to compare some real-time PPC with one or two of the better sounding traffic selling services).

Also really grateful for the list of traffic services that Advertisers Trust (Cheers Philip! I'll check all them out).

Thanks again to everyone who took time out of their busy schedule to read and comment. Very much appreciated. I'll call back later for any new comments.

Best wishes to each of you and have a prosperous recession!
