I'm looking for an application or a script that can install and update WordPress on a mass scale. No, I'm not creating splogs, I have a small network of blogs and the installation and updates are begining to take too much of my time. Fantastico is great but it doesn't handle theme or plugin updates. Here's roughly what I'm looking for: To be able to update existing WP installations (eg. Upgrade a site that was installed manually from 2.0.6 to WP version 2.1) If I have 20 blogs and a new version of a plugin comes out, auto-update all 20 sites with the new plugin version Roll out a new plugin to an existing site Auto install and update more complex plugins that require database modifications, such as ulimate Tag Warrior Install custom themes to multiple sites easily Work with multiple hosting accounts The closest to meeting all these needs so far is WP Manager DX, but it seems very limited in what plugins it deals with (only one that are a single php file).
Use SVN. As for the plugin, not all plugin are hosted in the official WP repos. You could create yourself on Google Code hosting.
mmmm...SVN looks like the right idea, but I'd be too afraid to dive into something like that. I guess I'm looking for something with a GUI and that can be used by a non-developer. Any other suggestions?
