Can you really sell an idea?

I have 2 ideas for websites. These websites are niches and unique so they wouldn't be competing directly with other businesses. I don't want to develop them because I don't have the time or money. Rather than let these ideas go to waste, what is the best way to sell them? Doess an "idea" have any value?

I don't want to write an ebook, because I don't want to offer them for sell to everybody. Any ideas?

Being from the US yourself, I would probably try to team up wtih a US based developer and have them sign a NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement) so that your idea is not shared with others. There are always developers out there looking for new and fresh ideas. You might find one that really likes your idea and wants to run with it. The problem is, is that I doubt anyone will purchase an idea because there is no way to know if it is any good or not.

If it is really unique, no one on earth ever think of it before, and has 'selling' value, then you can just go to the patent office and register it. If someone use your idea, then that person has to pay (since you're the owner of the idea)

i would be willing to sign a non disclosure and non-compete agreement for you to tell me your ideas. If I like them, i'll go on and develop them and share 50% profit with you.

    Sound good?

How do you patent an "idea"? I would assume that I would have to make it an actual business first because its not an actual product.

Kunk, if you tell me what industry you are knowledged in, than I can tell you if I have something that may interest you.

Intellectual property is hard to defend. Get a really good develop, sign an NDA and then build an awesome site that will dominate the niches.

I really don't want to develop the site myself or invest it getting the site made. Are there people/developers who will use your ideas and attempt to make a business to split the profits? If so, where can I find them?

I have $1000 to invest in a new website. If it is a 'big long term project', I am willing to sign a NDA, and work with you on it, but if it is just a MFA site like "Blue Nokia Headsets" or a popular keyword to make a site around, then nevermind.

Sure we can discuss it further. But I would first like to know which areas you have knowledge in, so I can tell you if these ideas would suit you.

i suppose it's possible , but i don't think it'd be that easy. And you might have to write a ebook.

Where did you sell your idea/business? Who did you market it to?

If your 'idea' has potential, then find VC's -- Venture Capitalists. These are the ppl who are always looking to invest in something new ;).

Now if your ideas are small find someone who is willing to sign up for an NDA with you, as already suggested and try to work at it ;).

What are you talking about? The only idea I currently have up for sale is the one in my sig. What seems "sketchy"?
