...and if it were that easy, everyone would do it.

The fact is, most $5 articles are crap. It's very tough to find skilled writers who will work for cheap. In addition, it's VERY difficult to average 1 sale per article. Maybe 1 sale for every 5 articles...

1 sale per month? or 1 sale for the lifetime of the article?

You won't make big money just writing articles.

I'm a reasonably prolific article writer, but the returns are just not there for the amount of work I put in.

If you are going to write a lot of words, a much more profitable avenue is to put them into your own e-book, which is precisely what I've finally learned, and am doing now.

Its possible however few at DP can understand profit margins, enough to make it work, but it would go something like.

Cost to produce and distribute articles per month = $10,000.00

    Revenues per month - $20,000.00

    Profit per month = $10,000.00

But if you are not going to spend money, to make money, then you won't......

If that's true (and I have no reason to believe that it is not) I am seriously impressed!

I have the same question! Did you mean 1 sale total from each article that you write over its lifetime?

Might work if you were heading up a large team of workers doing it for you, seems doubtful for an individual unless its a very high paying repeat payment market

It's possible. Remember, everything is scalable and improvable.

Yeah of course its doable, if you have an awesome site that attracts loads of traffic and links to some great affiliate programmes amonst other monetisation methods.

But for most this isnt doable. I would worry on making it more attainable - say $100 a month and work upwards.

Is that generally the math on article writing... meaning about 100% return? Does anyone has average numbers as to what amount to spend to see results.

I was wondering if we're talking about $10,000 per month ACTIVE income or PASSIVE income? In other words, are we talking about someone who already has thousands of articles out there in article directories and collecting passive income from sales or someone that writes/outsources hundreds of articles per month and does this full-time?
From what I have seen, my articles get about 100 views and then # of views slows down. So I have a question for the Article Experts: Is there any residual income from the articles you've written in the past? Or is this more like a JOB where you exchange your time(writing articles) for payment(affiliate commission).

I'm talking about mix of both. Some conversions are happening from the articles written several months ago and still are ranking very well for their keywords but mostly from active writing and outsourcing to see new sales.

It all depends if the older articles tend to fall, however if the keyword is in demand and you are continuously adding more backlinks to them - I don't see a reason why they should fall after a while.

    Sajnish,
Sorry to persist with questions, but I am wondering *how* exactly backlinks should be built when it comes to articles submitted to EZA? Social bookmarking sites are starting to disallow links to EZA articles...

Personally I think it is more important how the traffic from the articles are used. Use it to build your list and soon it could be possible. IM's not some instant get rich quick thing is it?

First not all social bookmarking are disallowing it, they can sense spammers from good articles. Like squidoo.. it has tightened the belt lately, however if you have a good lens providing information, you are good to go.
