Can you put Adsense on a Joomla Site? And how do you do it?

I am having a problem working out how to put Adsense on a Joomla site. I am constructing a new Emo Wall Art site and want to put Adsense on it while i am learning how to put a shopping cart and upload products to it. I have gone into edit the HTML like on another of my sites ( which is with shopify) and it will not work. Does anyone have any ideas? I just thought it would be a good idea to make earn something off it while it is being built.

I was gonna say, doesn't google give you HTML code you can paste right into your page?

But you'd better be careful, copying and pasting is NOT RECOMMENDED for the amateur, you might accidently paste it twice or something and then your whole website would disappear into oblivion.

I guess it's safest to go with the module.

Oh and you were very wise to post here before using Google, same dangers as copy&paste....if you search google you run the serious risk of finding relevant results.
