$25 is suitable not only for changing your username but becoming a premium user, there are lots of benefits you can granted by this option.

Seriously, do you think that a username change would come for free? Let's imagine that DP has at least 70% scammers out of the total number of registered members, Would you still give them the chance to change their identities for free so that they may scam people again?

I saw it in the Faq that there is a reason that this is not allowed and i think that is why even now there is a rule to change it once in 30 days. What is that reason.

The reason it costs is because each post, thread, profile friends list etc. where your old name is needs to be changed and this creates stress on the MySQL meaning the forum goes slow till it fixes the changes properly. So it costs to prevent people from constantly changing their usernames. It's actually a smart idea.

This is my understanding of how the system is set up here anyway, if you know of another reason or something feel free to correct me :)

Yep, that is correct. We would still prefer users not to change it even with the income, but at least it gives an option for those that must.

Contact the new owner, and ask him if he'd be willing to pay you as you're advertising his site in your username, say if he doesn't want to pay for it you'll change it. That will get you some extra income for doing nothing.
