Can you migrate Facebook fans?

    Hi,

I'd like to create a new Facebook page for a site and the old one has a handful of Facebook fans/likes, whom I wouldn't like to lose, but would like to migrate.

theres no option to migrate but you have some moves.. promote the new page over and over again on the old page or just change the name of the old fanpage to the new one

Well, I would obviously do that...

But I would have loved it if there were options to move the Facebook page.

    You'll have to work hard.

A couple of years ago I convinced a club I belonged to move from the club being a "person" to using a page. If people were online when I was I'd send chat messages explaining the move etc. For a year I posted frequent reminders and as people liked the page I unfriended them from the account so that those who moved wouldn't see the reminders but we still had more than 50% who didn't make the change and a fair number of those were active facebook users. I'd have thought if people weren't that interested in the club the reminders would prompt them to unfriend the account and ignore the page but they just kept allowing the posts into their feed.

Well then, why don't you post an update on your existing page that you have a new page and ask your followers to like that page too.
What you are trying to ask is impossible for now. Come to think of it, if facebook will allow migrating followers from one page to another, then do you think they will still be able to make profit out of it? On the other hand, you can contact facebook and maybe make a suggestion (for their future updates) about migration.

If you'd like people to migrate quickly, I'd suggest setting a deadline & offering an incentive if they like your new page by a certain date. That way, you won't have two pages to deal with forever. And, it will help weed out those that are actually interested in your product/service from others that might never transfer. Just a thought. Hope it works out for you and you do not lose too many due to the change.

If the 2 pages have the same "page name", then you can merge the old one in the new one using this form :)

If they do not have the same page name, it's extremely tedious, but doable.

that page is not working... I don't know how to merge accounts, sorry :(

I didn't open a new Facebook page, but I will do in such a way that it has the identical name. Just that I need to understand how.

You cannot migrate Facebook page. Rather you can do one thing about your old page. You can inform or place a message that you are starting new page so that your followers might know that.
