You don't need to be good to win poker tournament. Patience and disipline is the key winning. Fold all weak hand and wait for a strong hand.
As I said Patience and discipline is the key winning. Fold and Fold until you got a strong hand. A lot of players don't have Patience and discipline, after 2-3 hands 100+ players are already eliminated.
Well, you are right. That's very much so. However, you are not playing against them. They have no influence on your chances of winning. The other players do.
This is funny to me. By online poker, no one would care if you've won a lot or not, the only thing house cares is the rake(fee) you paid. Besides, if you are really good at playing hold'em poker and especially the tournaments, the online casinos would even offer you a place in their poker team and send you to the WSOP. So, still the thing, if you don't know it, please don't pretend to be you know.
It's about how the poker operators see spikes in their statistics and what it means when you see a prolonged spike: a poker bot, usually. They ban those types of accounts because they know that if that sort of technology takes over, then they are finished. This is simply because no one wants to play online against automated opponents that will always end up playing hands that will give them an edge. It no longer is fun to play. People stop depositing. The entire house of cards (sic) collapses.
They are not banning the bots. That's a conspiracy in online poker. Bots also pay rake and the more bot and players are playing the more rake and revenue they earn.
There are no conspiracies. What there is, is an economic fact: there are hundreds of bots, bot types, and operations running scams and frauds. Yes, the poker rooms don't care who loses and who wins -- to a certain extent. Yes, they make money off of the rake no matter who wins. The simple fact of the matter remains: enough parasites move in and the host will die. The poker rooms clean out the trash as much as they can and tolerate the rest because it is not economically feasible to catch every swindler out there. Let's just both agree that I have more experience and knowledge about this particular subject and move along.
Yes you can make money playing poker. There are a lot of internet pros out there making great money. If you really want to learn how to play poker and how to make money playing poker then the first thing you should do is read some books from top pros. Harrington On Hold'em is considered the best poker book out there and is the easiest to understand for someone new to the game. Doyle Brunson's Super System is also a great book but I wouldn't read that until you have a better understanding of the game as that is a more advanced poker book that Harrington's book is. One thing that hasn't been mentioned here is bankroll management. If you are going to be a great poker player then you have to have great bankroll management. Even the best players go through long streaks where they lose money instead of win money. If you have bad bankroll management then you will go broke. It's that simple. The pros suggest that if you're playing in a tournament then your bankroll should be 100 buy ins at least. For example if you're buying into a $20 tournament then your bankroll should be $2000. For cash games they suggest not bringing more than 5% of your bankroll. Pros also suggest that when playing at a cash table that you sit down with 200 big blinds. So if you have a bankroll of $2000 and you follow the 5% rule then you should sit down with no more than $100 at a time. And if you also follow the 200 big blinds rule then you should be playing at a $0.25-$0.50 table. It is very possible to make loads of money playing poker. Look at all the pros. One of my friends makes a living playing poker online and once I saw him win $70k on a quick tourney. If you do not know anything about poker, it is like gambling, but if you know what you are doing and have a couple years (at least) experience, then you can actually make real money playing poker. If you are curious about it, watch ESPN these days that they are showing the WSOP and go to pokerstars.net and play with fake money until you are good enough. Best of luck. Now, I kind of skimmed the last 4 pages of this thread, but can someone explain to me how roulette is played skillfully? Do you just watch the ball and guess where it is going to land? I have heard of some people being able to do that to a certain degree and be able to make a profit playing roulette. To sum it all up: Don't gable, play with statistics...
my personal experience is that online casinos you will lose alot eventually, poker rooms are different, it is a game of skill, you just need to be good, but beware of bots... you will defently lose if you sit on a table with one...
don't even start it. I MEAN it. You will end up loosing money. Gambling, especially online gambling you have only small chance to win.
Well that's why its call gambling. As long as you play within your limits, its fine. If you're playing with money you can't afford to lose, then you're in trouble.
I'd just like to add that I hate it when people call poker "gabling"... Like emma_warren said, it is a game of skill. Learn some statistics before you play poker and you will beat half of the players out there. With some basic knowledge you can make at least $5/hour playing at lower limit tables--completely gabling free! Just don't get too greedy, because then it will be gabling.
I think its possible to make money if you are pro and you hit the amateur tables. I'm pretty poor at poker and i can spot a pro a mile awhile as he often clears the table.
Poker's easy to beat at the lower levels. Bots aren't a big problem. The ones you see usually have very rigid strategies and you learn when to stay away from them. A lot of players who are multi-tabling (sitting at more than one table at a time) play very bot like and again there are techniques that work against these. The problem is that, although it is easy to clear $5 an hour at cash games (or more) this isn't really a great deal of money, and not worth the time investment (unless you're playing in a country with a much weaker economy). At the higher limits there's much more competition.
most online casinos and betting shops i wouldnt trust, if you are serious about gambling try a betting exchange where you can back, lay and trade sports. i trade horses and my profit is back in my account before the race even starts, currently making about 400 euros per day from it, its the exact same as the stock market, only for sports
Yeah i'm not agree with you. I work full time online by forex trading/playing online/offline poker too. Everyday i can earn roughly $100 from playing online poker not counting the referral i earn from the poker . And what is important is poker online they did pay me what i win without causing any delay payment etc
