Can you make money on these three things alone?

I have posted a website with a lot of content. And i was wondering whether you could make money off it from just submitting the site to msn, google and yahoo and not doing any other work to the site after that? is it possible that you could make good money from a site using adsense, that has heaps of original content which is not renewed, or any advetising other that the free submission to the big three search engines?

Wb guys, thanks for your comments

Doubtful...unless you have some seriously good content you can't find anywhere else or some viral marketing going on. It might even take a while before the site gets indexed if at all with no backlinks and even if it does it won't rank very well.

It depends what you mean by 'money' if you mean a few clicks here and there then you probably can get that just by submitting to the three main search engines but for serious amounts of money you definately need to do some other kind of promotion

I suppose it's theoretically possible - suppose you begin a site with lots of original content which becomes really relevant at some future time. It's not very likely you'll make a fortune from it.

Yes. Depends on the content. It would require a lot of patience, which is in short supply on DP :)

I didn't know The Dear Leader allows people to use the Internet in North Korea. :D

Anyways, SEO and marketing isn't as hard as it sounds. Read on it and you'll be able to do them in your spare time.

I haven't updated my site for almost 2months but still earning a decent of money. If your site doesn't bring you a good money then you should spend a few hours a day to promote it.

it will take time & work to generate any real money.. if your content is 'evergreen', meaning you never need to change it and it's always relevent, then you can set it on autopilot and let the money flow in AFTER you've done the upfront marketing, SEO, etc..
