Many of us have hobbies and things we are interested in, and we turn that into a website. And we always heard that for your site to be successful, you have to be interested in what you are writing about. But honestly, I don't think anyone here have an unlimited amount of interests and hobbies. With that said, is there anybody here who is making money on niche they don't care about, and only got into that niche because they saw potential in it? I would like to hear from everyone on this matter. Thanks.
doing what you love or your hobby can bring riches only if you know how to do some research on it, producing products or joining affiliates because people would be gladly refer to you as the 'expert' on that niche..but not everyone is expert about their hobby, or the hobby is so saturated... better have one than none
If you treat it professionally, I'm 100% positive you can do it. Many people, all over the world get paid to do things they don't enjoy....it's called a JOB. Haha! If you treat the niche site like a job, you'll have no problem. You may not enjoy it, but you may make money.....like a JOB! Kumiko xo
Of course, many people work on jobs they don't like. But making you own website you have the opportunity to "work" on something you like, and you'll see like a "hobby" and not like a "job". So, if you can choose and want to be happier go to a niche you like.
Most certainly you can. There are more profitable niches in the world than just the ones you are interested in.
..to start off, surely with something that we like to do or most interested in or in a simple word 'HOBBIES'...you won't see it until you start and take action. I think, there is never 'too late' to look for our hobbies.
I think it's much easier to stay interested in a subject over the long haul if it's something you love doing, or even like. Once the money comes in, then that might be motivation enough. I'm the type person who needs a lot of motivation to keep doing something... bobbi c. http://www.bobbichukran.com
That's generally called business approach you do something because you want to make money out of it. for this you'll just need a good plan and determination
The general consensus, at least what I have read on the opinion of the experts here on DP, is to start a site on something you really enjoy. This way, it is much easier to keep an interest in the site when it comes to updating, working on it, etc. However, I am sure many people start sites on topics they are not an expert on but gradually become so, or at least get a far more interested in it.
I have a few sites that depress me, when i am working on them .... I just keep on doing them. You dont need to love it. Just do it .... I have made money from niches that i thought were impossible to make money from. I have done a website, that is totally not in my language. I started it 2-months ago and it gets 60 uniques daily. When i look at that site now... I say to myself, you must be crazy .... Seriously, if that site lost its database, i doubt i can put it up again ... I work with season ( mood ).
I think you can go with it, but it's better to start a website about something that you like. This way, you won't get bored, atleast until the $$$ arives.
That's why I love blogging. Blogging was invented for ME! LOL. I can toss off a blog entry without a lot of thought. Short stories, essays, etc. take a lot more thought, and work. That's why I've spent time on blogs lately, although I can say that none of them have brought in more than a few cents on AS ads...at least, not yet. bobbi c. http://www.writers-inspiration.blogspot.com http://www.bobbichukran.com
Of course you can! Money will be your main motivator. If you don't have a problem with that, it's okay.
