Can you lose rank for running a lot of search queries?

This question has been on my mind for awhile. Is it possible to lose ranking position on google for using tools like SEO SpyGlass to look up where your links are coming from?

I wasnt worried about this before until I signed up for Google Webmasters account. Now they could log my IP and see that I am scanning my URL for backlinks from the same IP.

    any ideas?

I wouldnt think so, because basically its the same thing as far as their software is concerned as searching your pages with their site search. If your really concerned you may want to use a proxy from time to time. However I personally wouldnt worry about it.

I believe you can if Google uses data from analytics, webmaster tool and personalized search to improve there algo ... then the bounce rate for the keyword u searching will be high !! And they might consider that your page dnt have much information !

No, if it is that would be an easy way to kick the competitor off the rankings.

You will not, you are just using it to improve your ranking and not manipulating any against Google terms.

No way,you are just querying the system...and you are not doing anything against Google's TOS..

And also that too you would be using different ip's when you do n't have a static ip...

If you are concerned by it, you could look at using an anonymous web proxy to do your searches.

There are however a growing number of people out there who are very concerned about their internet privacy, who refuse to use any of G's services (search, gmail, maps, etc..) given G's current status, strength, and ability to collect this info.
