    As per my knowledge it is not possible for any one to ban their competitor by using Spam links. Since Spam links that are coming from out site will NOT harm a website. The worst thing that can happen to the website is it will not receive zero credit for all those Spam links, but negative or bad credit is not possible unless Spam links coded on the website.

    I'd argue with that dr.sam.

    I think you're correct for google but not for Inktomi/Yahoo.

    I hurt my own website solely on the incoming links. I've been banned for over a year now.

    Therefore it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility to ban another site that isn't mine.
